Time for another Transcontinental race kit list. In the rare case you’ve missed the earlier they can be found at 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015 and 2014. Or you can just skip to this year’s album.

Riding the Frankenbike Tunturi F500 again. First time with this bike since 2019. I opted for a little wider tires due to certain longer gravel sections along the route. 50/34 front, 13-29 back, 35 mm GP urban tires, Son deluxe in the front and just the stuff I happen to have.

Carradice saddle bag, Apidura bag for camping gear under saddle, Missgrape frame bags, Apirdura handlebar bag and Ortlieb toptube bag on stem.

On the front side Iq-x dynamo light, Lupine Piko battery light and Gopro mission 1 camera.

 

On the back 2x Secula dynamo rear lights and Niterider Solas battery light for blinding people. Hopefully I don’t have to recharge it throughout the ride as it is along with 1030 spare navigator only thing that requires micro-usb.

The tracker mount is again on the saddle bag.

The gear on me is mostly the same. Brand new jersey, almost new gloves, new socks, almost new shorts, ancient helmet, newish Polar watch, once (the Tcr) worn shoes and I also expect to get a new cap.

Pocket order is usual. Phone, wallet/card/passport and camera (Tg 5 as place holder as Tg7 was used to take the photo).

When not worn the reflective vest is in the right pocket of saddle bag. And vest pockets, which at night usually store water, accommodate helmet light and packable backpack.

The earbuds are ”permanently” attached to vest for practical cable management.

Extra clothes are the same as most of the time. Only recent change is that I have eVent rain jersey. It is not as practical for sleeping, but might save from some rain and cold in Norway.

As a side note the gloves and leg warmers have now finished 10 Transcontinentals. Maybe 11 as I don’t have a proper kit list from the first one.

The Ortlieb ”stem” bag has cables and occasionally power banks stored waterproof. Used for charging and juggling the Sinewave cables.

Hygiene stuff is now separated for ”longer stops” and ”more than once per day stops”. The feet care stuff is supposed to run out after a few days.

Other bag is in the frame bag and daily bag either in saddle bag or handle bar bag depending on how much food is being carried.

In addition to food being carrier, a spork and rag are in top tube bag.

 

Here is probably the biggest change as for the first time I have a inflatable mattress instead of a bubble wrap. This year’s route should have potential places for more proper outside sleeping and it fit in the same bag that would’ve otherwise housed the bubble wrap and bivy.

TPU tubes and Clik valves will hopefully work as expected. I have about 10 patches and same also lots of patch equipment for the mattress. Also a few ”home made” alcohol wipes. The mixture is home made, not the alcohol. Chain is now waxed and I expect the Rex Black diamond to function well with it. No personal experiences of the combo yet.

Not in expected to last so here are 2 butyl tubes with presta valves, spare pump hose, spare outer tire, a bell, patches, spare Lupine battery/charger, spare navigator and micro-usb adaptor for the navigator. The stuff is in the handlebar bag’s main compartment that I hope to never open during the ride.

Spare cycle clothes are again bibs and a pair of socks. They are in the saddle bag.

”Civilian clothes” are again shorts and underwear packed waterproofly in saddle bag.

The left pocket of saddle bag has charging equipment and sun screen. Missing from the photo, a musette for stop is usually in that pocket.
